So for years I hated denim on denim outfits. All I could think about was the outgageous Grammy outfits of Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake! But now I have grown to love this look. Don’t get me wrong , it can go from classic to tragic very fast. But there is something about a good “Canadian tuxedo” as they have been coined that I love and think is a wardrobe staple. It’s a blank canvas to be able to accessorize and revamp it how ever you want. Now I know a lot of people will ask how to style this look, so I have put together three looks with totally different feels to them so you can see just how versitile this look is!
CLASSIC: this is what I picture when I think of a classic Canadian tuxedo! Light wash chambray shirt trucked into darker wash skinnies. A brown leather belt and then my added flair of fringe heels and an oxblood tote. Add a scarf or some fun baubles and you are good to go. It’s comfy, classic and chic!
ROCK N ROLL: This is the look if you want to add a dash of bad ass to your outfit! Pair your look with destroyed boyfriend jeans, a classic rock graphic shirt, and a chambray shirt either tied around your waist OR worn over the tee and left open! Add some wedge booties , a fringe bag and the most awesome necklace to make the outfit complete!
Eclectic: This look is my favorite by far! Taking the Canadian tuxedo to another level! Pairing the chambray shirt tucked into a denim pencil skirt. Adding a great statement duster coat, like thi awesome patchwork one! Plus a great gold fringe necklace, oxblood pumps and an unexpected pop of color with the yellow bucket bag makes this look a home run!
