The second room of my apartment reveal is my Dining Room! When I first toured this apartment I fell in love with a little nook that I KNEW was perfect for an adorable dining space! While the space is small is size, it is big in personality! And I was able to get a chic dining room on a budget for the TOTAL price of …… brace yourself….. under $500! Yes, you read that right, UNDER $500!
First up I wanted to have an accent wall and since I can’t paint (yes the apartment CAME with these amazing colors) the next best thing would be a removable wallpaper. It’s pretty easy to apply, its inexpensive and it won’t ruin the walls or the paint when you go to remove it at a later date. I actually found this white and gold speckled wallpaper for $29 a roll from Target! Once that was up I knew the wall was missing something, I scoured the internet, stores and local artists for the perfect art work to add to this wall. Then I unexpectedly found these succulent framed art pieces from Hobby Lobby.
Now that the walls were done it was time to find the perfect dining set. I knew that I wanted to get grey upholstered chairs. But, being a girl on a budget I couldn’t find them ANYWHERE that were under $250 a chair! Then on a whim I decided to check out walmart.com and found these grey tufted, upholstered, nailhead trimmed chairs. All 4 for $200! I was skeptical when I ordered them about what kind of quality they would be at that price point. But when they arrived, I was very pleased. They are amazing quality and went perfectly with my black Ikea table.
Lastly no dining room is complete without adorable dining ware and table setting. Since the space is semi open concept with the living room, I wanted to keep the color scheme the same so that it flowed well together. Which means more accents of blush pink!
Overall this space makes me so happy! It’s chic, cozy and will be the perfect place for my morning devotionals and evening dinner parties.
