Sheer madness

Sheer clothing is a huge trend for fall, hell Kim Kardashian has practically been walking around LA almost naked these last few weeks. But this trend can be really scary for anyone plus size or just not comfortable with their body! I wanted to try this trend for a while now but I’ll be honest was too afraid to rock it. Thinking I couldn’t pull it off. Then I realized that being afraid to rock this trend was sheer madness ! So, I just decided to say F what everyone says, F the “rules” and F what society thinks about being proud of your body as plus size women. Let me tell you this is one of my fave looks to date! I feel confident, sexy and chic. Plus I realized that the biggest critic I have was the one in my own head. So go out there, be confident and rock this trend no matter what shape or size you are:)

Flowers for Dreams

Flowers for Dreams has come to Milwaukee and I couldn’t be more excited! Flowers for Dreams has been a staple floral delivery service in Chicago for the past few years and they are expanding their market to the Milwaukee area. What is so great about this amazing company is that all the flowers are locally crafted, they wrap the flowers in recyclable cloth, the vases are all made of reclaimed materials, the delivery is free and the bouquets are only $35! But the best part about them is that a part of every bouquet sales goes to support a local charity right here in the Milwaukee! How awesome is that!

Last week I was invited to attend an event thrown by Flowers for Dreams for Milwaukee Influencers to learn about the company and connect with the CEO. The passion behind this company is so inspiring and the bouquets they have are simply stunning. I cannot wait to send these flowers to everyone I know! 🙂

Hair makeover with Roots Salon

I have to admit, I have let my hair take a backseat priority recently. Which is not ok! But we have all been there, life just gets in the way sometimes and we don’t have time for pampering ourselves. When I let my hair go it get BAD, since I’m a natural blonde, my roots end up looking like grey hair and the ombre turned brassy. So when Roots Salon opened their new salon in Oak Creek in the Drexel Towne Square, I knew I had to run over there and get my hair back in check.

So when I first arrived at the salon, the girl at the front desk was so friendly, and gave me a tour of the full salon. She offered me something to drink while I browsed some of the top of the line hair care and makeup products for they have for sale. Then it was Autumn to the rescue! She was amazing, I showed her my inspiration pics of a bronde color ( a brown blonde). And she gave me realistic expectations. She was so friendly, funny and made the whole experience fun!

The results are amazing! The ombre is blended so perfectly, the color is stunning and I love my hair again! Thanks to Autumn and Roots salon for sponsoring my hair change and for helping me to find a new salon home that I will be going to for many times to come.

Getting perfect brows with Brow Studio MKE

I always want to try the latest and greatest when it comes to beauty treatments. So when I hear about microblading I was instantly intrigued. Which you can imagine my excitement when I partnered with Brow Studio MKE to get the treatment done. When I got to the studio, I was greeted by a very friendly front desk girl who had me fill out paperwork. Since microblading is a form of temporarily tattooing you have to fill out the forms like you are in fact getting a tattoo. Which I’m all too familiar with being that I, myself have 15 tattoos.

After the paperwork was complete I was taken back to the brow room by Sabiha. She instantly put me at ease and was very easy to talk to. She looked at my brows and told me that I didn’t need microblading at all! I was shocked since I have such blonde eyebrows. She told me that yes, they are blonde but they are thick and full. Microblading is to make them look fuller which I do not need. Her honesty was refreshing. She instead suggested that we thread them and dye them to match my brunette hair better. As most of you know, I’m a natural blonde and I dye my hair dark. So dying my brows would eliminate having to fill in my brows to make them appear darker everyday.

Sabiha proceeded to thread my brows into a perfect shape for my face. And then put the dye on them. It processes for about 15 mins and after words she cleaned it off and made sure everything was even and perfect. I was so impressed with how detailed she was with making them perfect. After seeing the final result I was so happy! I will always go back to this studio for my brows, not just because of my after look but because of the honesty they had with making sure I got the right treatment that was right for me and my brows.

Make sure you check them out:)

How to care for your designer pieces!

Designer pieces are a coveted by many women! These are pieces that can get passed down for generations. And since these tend to be such an investment it is key to take great care of them. Here are my tips for keeping your designer duds fab for years to come.

1. Designer handbags:

Always keep stored in the dust bag when the bag is not being used.

I just butcher paper to keep fill out the inside of the bag when not being used so that it still maintains its shape.

Be aware of untreated leather: Louis Vuitton bags have untreated leather handles ,it is normal for them to get darker the more you carry the bag from the oils in your skin. Untreated leather will get water damaged so clean with caution.

Condition: just like you condition your hair, you should clean and condition your bags with whatever is recommended by the designer.

2. Shoes:

Protect them with weather proof spray, this will help prevent water stains

Keep the bottoms good with resoling them when needed. With Louboutins you will need to find a cobbler that works with loubs . So when you resole them you still get that iconic red bottom.

Again I stuff the shoes with paper when not being worn to keep their shape

Keep in dust bag or box when not being worn

Get the heel caps replaced often

Always dry clean or hand wash! NEVER PUT IN THE WASHING MACHINE.

Store out of direct sunlight to prevent discoloration

Always store in a hard case when not being worn to prevent damage and scratches

Clean with lens cleaner and a microfiber cloth
Now that you know how to care for your pieces here are some of my fave websites for designer, designer consignment or vintage pieces!

Green machine

I have always had a love affair with the color emerald! Idk if it was because I’m a May baby and the Emerald is my birthstone or because it goes so well with my green eyes. Lol who am I kidding it’s because every time I wear it, it makes me want to sing show tunes from Wicked and the Emerald City! Lol So when I saw this skirt, I had to have it and to my dismay it was sold out. After stalking the website for weeks in hopes of a restock I finally admitted defeat and that it wasn’t meant to be. But then, there is was, 1 skirt left and it was in my size!!!!!! I have never pulled out my credit card so fast in my life. This skirt is perfect for a many occasions .The material is very luxe and the length is great for tall girls! I’m 5’10 and it still skims the ground in heels. I kept it chic with a classic, white oxford shirt. But I cannot wait to pair it with a vintage band tee and leather jacket as well…… so the love affair continues.

Clueless vibes with Society+

I couldn’t let a lil chilly weather stop me from wearing this adorable plaid skirt from Society+. Maybe it’s the 90’s kid in me, but a plaid skirt always gives me all sorts of Clueless vibes . So while I was channeling my inner Cher Horowitz, I decided to pair this skirt with a low cut lace up top with just a hint of my lace bra peaking out. Thigh high boots help keep warm and is such a sassy look with a skirt, while this adorable black Tassone crossbody bag is the perfect accessory for this look. So you know what I say to this winter weather ? ” AS IF “, I’m gonna wear what I want!

A perfect fit featuring SLINK

Let’s be real for a minute ladies, there are 3 things that are the absolute worst to shop for: swimsuits , bras and jeans! We have all been there trying on what seems like a hundred pairs of denim trying to find the perfect fit. But we always run into the same issues, too loose in the legs, doesn’t cover your booty, gives you that awkward gap in the back of the waist, or gives you the dreaded muffin top. Well ladies I too have felt this struggle many of times, so when I partnered with Slink Jeans I was skeptical. Yes, I’ve heard all the rave reviews about how comfy and flattering these jeans for curvy girls are. But I was gonna believe it when I see it. So when they arrived I ripped open the package so fast to try them on. And let me tell you, these are the BEST jeans I have ever worn. The length is perfect on my 5’10 frame, no gapping or muffin top, they dont stretch out and they are so soft and comfy! These have been my go to pair of jeans ever since I have gotten them. So make sure you check them out and you will never have those fitting room denim horror moments ever again!

I love a good floral print number, but they are usually reserved for the spring/summer season due to the fact that they don’t always coincide with the fall/ winter color pallets that we love. So when I found out that Fall/ Winter Florals were on trend this season,I couldn’t have been happier. The dark hunter green background, mixed with the muted and neutrals of the floral on this dress are the perfect balance. The sheer sleeves still allow you to show some skin will still being covered for the colder months. Pair this with some nude heels and a clutch like I did. Or throw some tights on under it and some boots to give it more drama. This is a great piece to have in your wardrobe this season and its only $15!!!!
